Goldfish are hardy & can survive in harsh conditions. But still, you need to offer them a variety of diets & regularly monitor your water quality.

Keep Goldfish in a large Aquarium:

Choose a large aquarium because it is suitable for the fish even when they grow up. Goldfish grow fast & big in size. Keeping this fish in a bowl or small tank is not good. The minimum aquarium size for goldfish is 110 liters because they grow larger in future.

Feed Goldfish 2 to 3 times a day:

Make sure your goldfish is eating enough food so a good strategy is to feed them 2 to 3 times every day. Only offer food to goldfish that they can eat within 2 minutes.

Goldfish loves to eat small pellets & you can easily remove the leftover food.

Choose smooth & hard decoration:

Purchase smooth & hard decoration because goldfish are messy & they play with tank stuff. Substrate is not required for a goldfish tank.

Use a powerful filter:

Goldfish make lots of waste so it is better to leave your tank bare bottom so you can easily clean it. Or use a turbo suction filter which has a greater power of cleaning fish poop. This filter is particularly very important for a goldfish aquarium.

Add fine & mid to large substrate:

If you want to add substrate then choose any mid to large, & please avoid adding sand to the tank because goldfish can swallow it. Use fine substrate or structures in your goldfish because rough / sharp surfaces might hurt your goldfish.

Do not add small fish:

Goldfish eats anything that fits in their mouth. They even eat small fish so add any peaceful fish to the goldfish tank that is bigger than the goldfish mouth.

Avoid adding live plants:

Add an aquarium light in the goldfish aquarium. Goldfish are messy & they have the habit of digging substrate. They can uproot live plants & eat them. So, it is a good idea to keep artificial plants in goldfish aquariums.
