Tracy has been working with wood for over 20 years, and has been fishing even longer. He started out building custom furniture and cabinetry. About four years ago he carved his first fish, a silver salmon out of black walnut. This first attempt at carving would eventually lead him to a career of fish carving, and woodworking.

After many years of visiting Alaska for its outstanding fishing, he moved to Wasilla, Alaska in 2003. He spends his summers on the water chasing down the variety of salmon, trout, artic char, rockfish, halibut and what ever else will bite the hook. The beauty of Alaska, the abundance of fish, and his lifelong love for the outdoors combined with his woodworking is a natural fit to fish carving.

Tracy also carves birch burl bowls. These burls are the result of the tree's defense when an airborne virus attacks it. The burls continue to grow as the trees mature. Each burl is unique and can be used for a variety of purposes.

When he is not carving fish or birch bowls he is building custom furniture. He has a 1200 sqft woodshop, which is suitable to build just about anything a customer would want. Custom beds, dressers, entertainment centers, wine racks, and etc....
